The Prairie River Historical Society began in 1996 when a group of local people decided we needed to preserve the history of Argenta, Oreana and Cisco, Illinois. Our museum building was originally the Argenta Grain Office. It was donated to the society by Top Flight and moved to Prairie Park in April of 2001. Inside the museum, you will find materials and artifacts dating from the late 1800s and up through the years.
